MC ah...

Have been asked to try emceeing for the first time for a friend's (actually ex-colleague's)wedding. It's strange cos we're not that close, but guess I am honoured that she decided to ask me :)

My co-emcee is from China. Also from my previous company. Super tall lor. I think we will look abit cock on stage. Heh. And contrary to the usual ones u meet in SG - this guy speaks relatively good english. And he's nice too :)

So we had our first meet up today - a very pleasant dinner at Paulaners. 1 and a half pints of beer... and it went down quite fast too. To my surprise. I guess it's fun to meet new pple once in a while... since I think of myself as one of those anti-social grumpy types, esp after a hard day's work of having to talk to so many (idiotic) pple. But tonight was nice. The socialising came easy for once. Maybe cos there was a job to be done. Maybe cos there was gd beer. :D Not sure how the whole thing will turn out to be leh. Have already drawn up a mental list of things to do:

- Need to lose weight (so I can fit into tt dress)
- Need to draw up a good emcee script (so I won't 乱 and talk nonsense on that day) Anyone got old scripts which I can use as reference?
- Need to meet up again to 培养默契
- Need to make sure that the programme is relatively entertaining
- Need to see whether can insert some surprise/sabo element for the couple

And the list goes on... I suppose, work is sthg tt makes life meaningful.

So anyways, even in the midst of emotional rollercoaster last week. I got my long overdue bday present. And it really made me laugh. Now, check out this thing below that totally describes how I feel at work most of the time.

Done by the very talented Stevensan.... pls dun anyhow steal and use ok. The rights belong to him!

There were many other pple who really made the effort to make me feel better last week. And I'm thankful... 2 of them u see in previous posts... the other one... I dun really have photo of her leh. But i'm glad to say, we have similar interests in the guitar (which make us both cool :p) and I'm glad we're going Qatar together. There, I said it ok. Feel shiok now?? Hahahahaha

In Loving Memory

It's been a very emotional week... with the demise of a dear friend among other idiotic things.

I didn't make it to her wake, maybe cos I was too chickenshit, afraid of bursting into uncontrollable tears upon seeing her. Plus I didn't think there'd be anyone else I knew there. It's really shocking, this sudden loss, knowing that you'll never ever see her again.

I just wanted you to know that even though we'd lost touch for the last 5 years plus, I remember our conversations in the bus, in class, during breaks etc. I admired the fact that u took that chinese studies module...you left a deep impression on me and really touched my life. That's why i was so excited when we finally re-connected again through facebook. I'm so glad we met up for dinner in August. I was just thinking abt asking u out again.. wanted your advice on dealing with LDR since u were pretty much in the same situation that I'm currently in. And now you're gone. I'm sure, to a better place. Your facebook profile page has become a beautiful memorial page of sorts. You were and are still loved dearly by many. Rest in peace my dear. Do visit Daniel soon, he misses u.

I can only imagine how difficult it is for her loved ones and all those who were close to her. We were relatively close, altho we hadn't managed to close that 5 yr gap within the span of 1 dinner. I guess I'm thankful for the opportunity to even have met up with her recently.

So yeah, been quite an emotional wreck the past week or so and that really sucks. Normally I'm quite non-emotional one la. Or shld i say, my emotions are normally limited to being annoyed/angry mostly. But think I had quite a wide range last week.

It's been difficult concentrating at work, and the stress seems to keep building. I can only pray that it gets better. It should. I will get through this somehow.

An evening of good music.

Lifehouse was fantastic. Worth every cent of the $70 I paid. And there were no arseholes to irritate me (by standing in front of me or jumping against me etc). Only sad thing was, my baby was not there with me...physically. But I know he was there in spirit!!

Then went to Timbre to hang out with Karen and Dragon. The Goodfellas were playing. They're really quite good. But I think they shld've been more aware tt Lifehouse just had their concert like, on the same night. And they should'nt have covered "Blind". There were 2 covers which were really bad - "Blind", and David Cook's "Always be my baby". But everything else was great.. and they were so funny + cute!!

Yeah. All in all, made for a super fantastic night. Only missing 1 ingredient tho. But nvm, at least the "support group/club" has met once. Haha.

一个人

It's not easy dealing with an emo me....

Ok stop.

Was just abt to launch into some emo post abt it being difficult for me to come to terms with me. but Steven just sent me sthg tt made me laugh out loud. My bday pics frm the arcade and KTV session that I organised! And John Mayer's singing a jumpy song right now. :D So 我要开心! Yeah!

First, check out the nice cake they bought for me... Then Steven managed to find a gd plc to put his phone so we could have shots of the 3 of us. And the next 3 pics must be seen in succession, it's hilarious!

We sang...

Then made a funny face at Seok Hong

And finally, all of us made funny faces! Hahaha

Part of my bday celebrations also entailed goin cycling at east coast. And Shane did manage to capture some of that happiness I felt then. It was peaceful (and we were tired frm all that cycling!) :p

And since I was talking abt John Mayer just now. U can play this and bounce along while reading my post :)
