I'd like to think I am...

If only we could just skip the now and fast forward like maybe 6 mths.. or even just 3. But I guess it's all part of the learning process.

Thanks, old friend. It is definitely a better song to be emo to :)

Whatever you do, do it for yourself

Conversation between me and my dad today:

Dad: So you still gonna sign up for the Stanchart Marathon? (He really means the 10km, not the 42)
Me: Huh? Sign up?
Dad: Yeah...are u still going to be running?
Me: Yar of cos la... i signed up long time ago already...
Dad: Oh...cos I figured since now you have no more motivation to run..
Me: ¬!@#$% =_=

So I tried (in my most patient way possible) to explain that the reason why I was running, was because I wanted to challenge myself... and not for someone else. Realised that I'd thought this through for a while already.. cos this whole running thing is not exactly me. I hate running.. most of u who know me, know that. And you may also know that, my attempts to start were of course, triggered off by someone who enjoys it. It began as an activity that we could do together. So yes, I have him to thank for the little extra push in the beginning.

BUT. With the turn of events in the last few months, we haven't been running together all that much. In fact, the first time I realised that I could do 5km without stopping, was on my own, on a particularly frustrating night. And I think since then, we'd only done 1 or 2 runs together. So it dawned on me since I'd started running more regularly that I would never be able to keep this up based on one person's (and not my own) motivation alone. Seeing how I really don't like running, and I don't think i'll ever grow to like it.

Was rather annoyed at first, how my dad seemed to jump to the concl tt I was actually doing this for someone else. But then I figured, maybe he was just a little disappointed that he'd never been able to motivate me to start, even though he is a regular runner and has been asking me to do it for as long as I can remember. I think he is happy now though, that there is something more that we can talk about and perhaps do together - someday, when I actually get better at this :)

p/s: For those of u who think u can't, c'mon... if aunty can do it, so can u!

I know emo songs aren't exactly helpful in getting me out of this state right now, but i just had to post this. There's nothing more beautiful than a well-written song which paints a pic of how u really feel. (Ok, being just a leeetle 夸张 here..but I am entitled, cos it is MY blog) And the harmony is amazing. Esp the 'gone gone gone gone gone' part. How does he come up with the chords!!

Today was the first most horrible-est day I've ever had in policy.

Left me and my boss feeling most demoralised and really rather pissed off. All boils down to lousy pple on top. Maybe not the top top, but the in-btw-but-still-on-top group. Gaah.

Sometimes pple just need to find scapegoats, or something/someone they can point fingers at. Honestly, they should realise that they have all 3 fingers pointing back at them. We were so pissed, we were actually planning to leave office early (i.e. on time) to go for a drink or sthg. But of cos tt didn't happen ... cos some other shit happened again at like 5pm. =_=

Ok rant over.

In other news, Ms Yip's status has changed again (I know, roll eyes right. I'll bet someday, if this blog still exists when I'm old... my grandkids will freaking roll their eyes when they read it). Sucks for now, but just for now only la.
