Company Company Company

Company Company Company

One of the songs that keeps playing in my head

Brill, as usual. Still on my Company craze as u can see. Need to get new musical CDs. Prob order on Amazon and get my colleague to bring it back for me :D Just listen to the harmony. Makes me wish I was in such a production too.. what fun it'd be!

I really miss playing badminton. Haven't played for at least a month now I think.. can't rem.. or feels more like years :((

Had guitar lesson tonight. Finished learning this song... altho still not quite up to the original speed...but quite pleased cos it sounds so nice (the song, not my playing) :)

Am supposed to play at a wedding next year.. but at this point, kinda having 2nd thots whether I shld even bother. Cos.. it appears tt e couple may not really be that keen on it. Although they haven't said so la. But the other things tt they've said juz make me think.. "是我自作多情吗"？Maybe la. So while I was quite excited when I first thought of the idea, right now I feel like backing out. Since there appears to be a 'lack of time' anyway. Maybe I should. No need to so extra right.

Feels like tt sometimes. But if only I cld still make a nice tune out of it... and sing it well. Hmm.

Anyway, swimming tmw! Yeah!

Blue Blue Blue

Blue Blue Blue

~Frivolous post coming up...

Had a blue weekend. As in the colour, not the feeling. Cos got my toenails painted blue..a new colour I'd never tried before. So tried to "配合" the look all weekend. Blue is such a beautiful colour.. and it makes me happy :)

Realised that the whole of last week was maciam tai tai week. Didn't arrange to meet up with anyone for dinner (except fri la) but went for facial, haircut and pedicure. Woo! Shiokest.

I am so loving the haircut again btw!! Check out the photo with the nerdy specs. These weren't mine of cos.. am so tempted to get a pair!

*credit for prop and photo go to Meng ^_^

A guy I just met said this of me (not to my face tho). No details were given.

Don't think it was meant to be an insult, but I'm not sure whether he meant it as a compliment either.

Hmm.

The more I listen to Company, the more I'm finding it such a brilliant piece of work.

This is prob one of the lesser known songs from tt musical, but I found it really mesmerising. I love how the church-y part is interspersed with the madness. And given the speed at which she sings.. I'm surprised she can still stand. But maybe it helps with getting into the crazy character. Sigh. What I'd give to watch this live!!

============================================

Am on half day leave tmw... the knee's not getting any better, so goin to see the doc. Am prepared that the worst case scenario is that I wont be able to make it for the 10km run. But let's hope it doesn't come down to tt. At the most just have to go really slow. In that case, sorry hor, Stevensan!

In the midst of all this tho, I've discovered that I quite like swimming. Went to the NUSS at Kent Ridge the other day.. and the facilities are gd! Since I pay almost $600 a year... I shld bloody well make more use of the facilities man. Altho the weather seems to keep ruining my plans...so i didn't manage to swim as much as planned. But it was really therapeutic, being all alone with my thoughts and my breathing. Definitely more enjoyable than running... and it's gd for my aging joints too. Seems like a gd time to change sport!

Sometimes being in love/thinking that one is in love can render one's brain utterly useless.

I wonder if, (other than the old man) it is possible for any man under the age of 50 to be mature at all?

My road to running has constantly been fraught with such difficulty. If it ain't one thing, it's the other. The knee is really really annoying me. Think I'm resolved to rest it a bit more.. so perhaps goodbye to sat morn trainings for the next month or so. *伤心伤心伤心 And perhaps I will try swimming to sorta keep up the stamina. or sthg. Anybody wants to accompany me? :(( Damn sian. Gonna stop running for at least 3 mths after the damned 10k sia. KNS.

Watched A Little Night Music tonight. It was a rather disappointing show I must say. Some of the cast were not bad.. but in general, a C(??) grade production? Only saving grace was the music and lyrics - half of which I cldn't hear either. If only I cld fly to New York/London and catch more of Sondheim's works!! :/ Will prob share more of the songs when I'm in the mood next time. Meanwhile, think I'll try and get a good soundtrack!! Or just order on ebay and send to my bro right ^_^

Leave u guys with 2 photos I took in NYC earlier this year when I went to watch Sondheim's latest production, Sondheim on Sondheim. Don't think my parents really enjoyed it cos it was more of an autobiographical piece, but needless to say, I did :) The first photo was taken outside the theatre, and the second was somewhere near the entrance. :p Didn't put em up before cos 1) too lazy, 2) they're rather unflattering of me. But given my current Sondheim 疯 I heck care! haha.

Too tired to type in complete sentences

Too tired to type in complete sentences

So this'll be one of those random point form musings type of post.

1) Been listening to the "Wicked" soundtrack all weekend. This is one of my faves. Both women are so amazing. Singing only starts frm 1:38 or so onwards though so u can skip the front part. Lyrics are super meaningful too.

2) Having a HK drama craze now. Finished 溏心风暴 and 2nd series of the police story (with sammul). Those 2 dramas were superb. The police one makes me wanna become police officer sia. Our Ch 5 police/Home Team dramas shld ideally have this kinda effect on the public. Hope my cantonese is improving!!

3) Currently watching 1 lame drama starring Sammul too. It's set in like the early 1900s or late 1800s. Sibeh lame and slow. TMD. All based on the recommendation of the stupid sales guy. I can't believe how emo the plot is.. with an actress with the most horrible horrible acting skills ever. She's not even chio. =_= I have concluded that I don't really like those dramas set in the past.

4) I can't believe I'm gonna have to wear pastel pink for Pam's wedding. OMG. The things I do for friendship! Went to the bridal studio for fitting today.. and they had like super limited jiemei dresses (I had a grand total of 2 choices) and had the air squeezed out of my lungs when she tried to zip both. Felt like the fattest among the 5... and the groom cld even say, "Maybe u shld lose weight from now till the wedding". !!?!?!? ~!@#$%^ Seriously. I'm happy with my current fat-ness and it's not even my wedding.. why shld I lose weight!? Sigh. I will really look fat on the day though cos the dress is just ugh.

5) Glad tt I managed to catch 2 good movies 2 sats in a row. Le Petit Nicolas and Megamind. Both extremely funny.. haven't actually laughed so much in a while. I need to laugh more. :)

6) 26 days left to the 10k run. Did a good one with Steven the other day.. but we didn't hit 10. Am rather frustrated that my right knee (which is actually not the old-age knee) has been acting up for almost 2 weeks now. Not much time left to train and most concerned tt my knees are being worn out even before the run on 5th Dec.
