Hanoi Day 4!!(Part 1)
Haha ok I know this is like quite late already la... and you're prob quite bored since it's taking so long to update. Anyways. I shall persevere on... since I've already started. At least I have to end it.
So yup, in continuation from the previous post, I think the time up in Sapa was one of the most fun. We took quite a few photos there... with the tribal pple (altho they did become rather annoying after a while, constantly asking us to buy stuff), and tried interesting food! The next few posts will be rather picture intensive!
Sapa
So we arrived at Sapa at like 6 or 7 am in the morning I think. All of us were quite sound asleep, and scrambled to wash up when we realised tt our journey was coming to an end. All gan cheong we wldn't be able to get off. Heh. From the train station, we still had to take a bus/minivan up to the hotel. And twas abt a 45 min ride or sthg. Tried to take some shots from the bus, but it was too foggy...and the minivan was bouncing ard too much to get any gd shots.
So upon arrival, we checked in the hotel...and while Hang was trying to settle some of the admin stuff, there was this village girl who peered in at us through the glass doors. When she looked at YJ and me, she smiled. But when she looked at Steven, she stuck out her tongue!! Haha...for some reason (I dunno wat) I guess she didn't really like his face! :p But she was pleasant, so I asked to take a pic with her.

She spoke damn gd english by the way. I was very impressed. I learnt that many of these kids speak gd english cos it's taught in the schools and it helps very much with business - i.e. selling of their wares. And though I didn't buy anything from this girl, she was still friendly :) Oh btw, up till the last day, we saw her again and she still kept sticking her tongue out at Steven! She even had her tactics of asking him to buy something from her for Hang! So smart lor!
So that particular day was damn siong. cos we'd barely had enuff sleep the night before, and went on a tour to the villages already, after a quick shower. Guess u wld've seen the pic below before. It's one of the pics tt epitomise how much fun I had in vietnam.. with the other 3. It was taken in a jeep/land rover thing which was old and noisy... and took us to the start of the 'tour'.

The pic abv was taken from my point of view... from the back of the land rover. As u can see, it's hardly luxurious. Heh.
Anyways, describing our trip to the villages as a 'tour' is a misnomer because it was more of an intensive trek! We walked so much, over losta muddy terrain... not quite what we were expecting! It was leisurely initially, but after a while...the tour guide kinda got bored, stopped telling us funny anecdotes..and just led us on our way. He walked rather fast too..much to our dismay. And his english wasn't v gd. Hang had to do quite a bit of the translation for us :/ Oh well,in any case, we still tried to have fun. Certain areas made for good photography...which is why I have photos to share!
The next 3 are quite funny.
1) Photo taken by YJ. Looked a bit like Nat Geo kinda photo...
2) Photo taken by me. I thought tt was a gd angle also...but cos YJ was kinda in the way, had to take a bit of his hand too.
3) Lastly, photo taken by Hang. Not too sure what she was trying to capture (maybe Steven and the guide) but she happened to take YJ and me taking photo 1) and 2). Kekeke. I just thought tt was damn funny when I looked at all our consol photos :p

Okie... look out for the next installment!
