Kyoto (Part I)
I think I loved this city the most...cos everything abt it was so beautiful and ancient-ish. Tons of kimono-clad women walking around... beautiful temples, foliage, food.... then again most food in Japan is nice. Oh! we did try to look out for the geishas too.. but think we weren't there late enuff. And they're damn fast ok. My dad spotted one rushing across the road, and by the time we turned... she'd almost disappeared into the crowd. Amazing. Okok, enuff of the talking, more of the showing. So first, the 'traditional stuff'.

Took this covertly at the train station. Was damn difficult by the way, cos my group was so big.. and everybody kept trying to walk/follow me. Can u imagine how difficult it is to be inconspicuous with a bloody group following you? So anyways, this is like their formal way of greeting pple i think, they all stand in one line, awaiting their guests arrival... decked out in their traditional gear, waiting at the train station!

Then at the temple, we asked these 2 ladies if they minded taking a pic with us, and they so willingly obliged. Tons of these types just walking ard the temple lor...

This was the temple we visited. Altho i can't for the life of me rem what it was called, but it was one of the famous ones that had one of the best foliage during autumn.

Inside the temple they had tons of beautiful trees... which u will see in my next post, and they had this zen garden, which was quite amusing la. It had those orderly squiggles/thingies drawn in the sand. And pple were just sitting all around it and just enjoying the 'scenery'. :p

Also had the opportunity for some traditional desserts/tea thingies inside the temple.. so yeah tts me stuffing my face. It was really pleasant to sit outside and just have some flour dumplings/red bean thing.

And these are my cousins...
And... more food! This was hot mochi...with red bean inside, fried or grilled. In the cold weather, such food is just absolute shiok!
