Love Ain't Gonna Let You Down

Mood: Hopeful :)

*Not much of a video, so don't bother looking at the box. Follow the lyrics! Btw, I'm pleased as hell tt I managed to resize the youtube box to fit nicely within my template.. was a bit strange at first*

Everyone knows that I'm rightfully yours
So bring out your dirt from your previous wars
So lay thee to rest
'cause I'm chasing away all the dust that you're leaving behind

Because Love ain't gonna let you down
love ain't gonna let you down no more
Because Love ain't gonna let you down
love ain't gonna let you down no more

'Cause I'll turn your world around
and love ain't gonna let you down

So you wear your heart like a brooch for all to see
But the blood that pumps through
So will you save that for me
I've sweetened my tongue
And I've sharpened my words and my wit
And I've written my lines

Because Love ain't gonna let you down
love ain't gonna let you down no more
Because Love ain't gonna let you down
love ain't gonna let you down no more

'Cause I'll turn your world around
and love ain't gonna let you down

Feel it burning like a bomb raging
a thousand summers grazing on your skin
restlessly anticipating so many tiny things

The pursuit of love consumes us all
I'll be your Fabrice without the war
Do you dream about it written for
Bursting with all of the weight of a million rhymes

(Still) In the mood for Jamie. When I first bought the album, I listened to it a lot. You know how some songs jump out at you immediately, and some others you just skip first cos they're not so interesting. This was one of those 'not that interesting' songs at first. Then while driving to Sherwin's the other day, it struck me how beautiful the verses were. Maybe also cos I'm in need of a slow song to help me unwind these days.

Had been anticipating that this week would be a really horrid week, but it got off to a good start. Ok, somewhat lah, if you ignore the minor shock that there were no more firstcoach tix to KL. BUT we managed to get a good deal with Transtar anyway! (ok la, after I take the coach then I'll give my proper reviews. But for now it seems quite luxurious!) So my KL trip is more or less settled. Yessss! Major happiness. Lydia's right, just need sthg to look forward to. Really helps to pull u out of the lousy hellhole that you bo pian have to go through.

Yay to Spa-ing, Shopping, and Eating!! (in 2 weeks time!!)

Change

It's funny how, when we choose to make certain changes in our lives, we try our darnedest not to jump from the frying pan and into the fire. Or, from one frying pan, into another (i.e. an equally bad situation).

And sometimes we succeed in making things better, sometimes we don't.

One of the most impt things I've learnt though, is that 好马不吃回头草. Whatever choice it is you make, don't look back, and don't regret. Cos really, why make yourself feel worse? One can only look forward, and try to make the best out of things.

Yup, easier said than done lah.

In other news, one more week before this period of stress will be over. Am praying for the strength to get through it in one piece!

丑丑。。。

Major breakout day.. pimples are just popping like daisies everywhere on my face! Combi of stress, not enough slp and heatiness. Time to down tonnes of Liang Teh again!

Speaking of Liang Teh. Today, had this funny conversation during lunch, when i was asking Elaine and Lydia abt Meiji milk.

Me: I'm a bit lactose intolerant, so I try not to drink milk la. If not cfm LS one. Actually, just talking/thinking so much abt milk makes my stomach churn sia...
Elaine: Really? Then what did u drink when u were a kid?? U mean u didn't drink milk?
Me: Erm... hmm...
Lydia: No la, she drank tea! From young already start!

That was just hilarious. Goes to show that my friends know just how much I love tea. Also quite in line with the aunty persona too!

Had great kaki for both lunch and dinner today. Made a seemingly depressing day so much better. It's really impt to surround yourself with gd company on days that threaten to suck big time. Thanks ladies, esp my "MHA 情人"! :p

Random Musings

Been busy, as usual. Haven't had much time or energy to blog..now that Budget's gonna be announced later today, my 超 bz period will officially begin.

When I was first told I'd be involved in this, I was somewhat psyched.. tt I was chosen to be a part of it..altho of cos worried whether or not I'd be able to handle the workload..and whether I'd be able to perform. But now, the 'psyched' part is gone, and all that's left is the worrying.

Haven't been as efficient as I've liked to be at work..maybe I'm just too distracted, or maybe the type of work isn't my forte. Hmm.

Been running around quite abit.. maybe just a bit too much - attempting to exercise more, play more badminton, planning a holiday, improving my cantonese via TVB drama serials (!!). Just thinking abt it makes me tired. Heh. But I cannot dun do anything also leh. Maybe I just need more sleep :p

The weekend ended pleasantly though.. seafood dinner with WC and Yihao. Ate too much Chilli Crab, methinks. Haha. Good food and good company, with lotsa rubbish talking in btw. Sherwin made an interesting observation tt WC seems to have 2 totally different personas; one full of shit, and the other super serious. He is one crazy bugger lah. Happy for him tt he's getting married soon. And so are many of my friends.

Had one of those funny realisations that I'd be turning 28 this year. It's actually been 10 years since I was 18.. and fresh out of JC (when I also started to lose count of my age each year). When I was 18, I cldn't quite imagine what it'd be like at 28. And now that I'm 28, I wonder where the last 10 years have gone. Went by in a flash. The lyrics to John Mayer's "Stop This Train" are really beginning to make more sense to me now.

Ok, but having said all these rather introspective and somewhat depressing things..here's what I'm really looking forward to in the coming months

1) Jamie's concert!! omgomgomg he's gonna be here in April and I've already bought tix!!
2) Weekend getaway in March to somewhere! (haven't quite decided where tho)
3) U.S. trip in May to visit the bro who's graduating!
4)* My friend of 14 yrs, dearest Avi, is coming back to S'pore for a brief visit!

*edited on 23rd Feb - forgot abt tt! :p
