Finally getting to blog.... and then my com screwed up so I lost the entire post. -_-
Anyways, wanted to say tt V-day for me this year was interesting. My very first with Shane, and the first time a guy has cooked specially for me, without my help. As most of u wld've seen from the pictures on his blog already, it was very impressive. Had a most lovely dinner... salad, soup(with heart shaped toast), roast chicken and (perfectly cooked) veggies and then ice-cream and kahlua for dessert. :)
But I was a little irritated during the day, having every single thing scream at u, buy this or do that "on V-day specially for your loved one!!!" Right. All this darned consumerism! Flowers and dinners that cost an arm and a leg! I say, why make V-day the day to do something special or be extra special to ur loved one? My r/s with Shane so far has been wonderful, and I guess we do special/nice things for each other everyday. So feeling a little depressed before dinner was really silly. But V-day does make pple feel like they need tt special attention, gifts and stuff...when u really don't. It makes some single pple feel like losers when they really aren't! And yeah, for the first time I noticed so many posts being cynical abt V-day and all. It was quite amusing.
Had a lovely double date with Jac and Ben last last week too... and it was nice, just to meet up and talk with friends whom we haven't seen for so long... Oh, and speaking of Jac, I had a most bizarre dream two days ago, nightmare more like it actually... and dreamt tt we were going to war and I had to fight. Best thing is we didn't use guns but swords....so I was really freaked tt I'd die and so would all my loved ones. Strangely, our enemies all looked like Americans and I was so traumatised at having to kill a person. There was even this lady who was holding a kid and I was forced to stab her. Never felt so terrible, having to kill pple... but anyway I think the reason y they looked american was cos Jac and Ian were talking abt how obnoxious these pple are. Heh. Maybe also cos I watched A very long engagement which was abt war and all...
Yup....been trying to listen to Jars of Clay recently in the hope tt I can play some of it in catechism class and inspire the kids....as well as make myself not look so uncool in front of them... cos they prob think i'm like damn chachat by now...and altho this is like one of their v old songs, I like it. It's been playing in my head today :) The weekend has been nice and it finally rained(altho still damn bloody hot)! Managed to get a bit of work done, and caught some rugby too!
Jars of Clay - Love Song for A Saviour
In open fields of wild flowers
She breathes the air flies away
She thanks her Jesus for the daisies and the roses
In no simple language
Someday she'll understand the meaning of it all
He's more than the laughter
Or the stars in the heavens
As close as a heartbeat
Or a song on her lips
Someday she'll trust him
And learn how to see him
Someday he'll call her
And she will come running
Fall in his arms, the tears will fall down
And she'll pray
I want to fall in love with you
Sitting silent wearing sunday best
The sermon echoes through the walls
A great salvation through it
Goes to the people who stare into nowhere
Can't feel the chains on their souls
He's more than the laughter
Or the stars in the heavens
As close as a heartbeat
Or a song on her lips
Someday we'll trust him
And learn how to see him
Someday he'll call us
And we will come running
Fall in his arms
The tears will fall down and we'll pray
I want to fall in love with you
Seems to easy to call you savior
Not close enough to call you a god
So as I sit and think of
Words I can mention to show my devotion
I want to fall in love with you

More incoherent ramblings...
Bleh. The inspiration to say something keeps coming and going. Guess maybe it's also the time factor. I think by the time I am able to sit down and really recollect all my thoughts the ideas would be mouldy and stale. Yet, I don't think I can do justice to my issues by blogging abt them now. :/
Patience... is what I'm supposed to have more this lent.
Feeling abit stupid again today. Haven't felt like it in a long time... maybe it's gd to keep me on the ground for a bit, helps me to keep my pride in check. Then again, I think I'm hanging out wif too many smart pple.
Song of the day: Qi Li Xiang, or Seven Mile Fragrance? by Jay Chou. This song has been playing in my head the whole day. Beautiful lyrics...of which I haven't fully grasped the meaning yet, but oh well...in time to come.

Today is a good day!!
Maybe I'm happy cos the blogs I've been reading have been quite happy, maybe cos yesterday I handed in my first assignment (almost) on time, maybe cos I feel semi-inspired to teach catechism today (minus the incompetence of someone) cos we had a gd meeting on tues. Or maybe after some rather shitty days the week has just taken a turn for the better....(meaning, I've got more rest)
Oh, wanted to blog abt V-day too...my thots on the cynical posts tt have come up this week all cos of V-day...and my mixed feelings abt it...altho I did have a wonderful surprise from my love. Met up with Ms Just-came-back-from-Paris Jacq too!hehehe.. Miss talking to her...and we were ust reminiscing that it seems like yesterday that we were busy working on Francis.
And I wanna KTV!! Have been in a cheena songs mood for the past few days... and Bern's passing the Jay Chou compilation to me is just adding to it. Hahaha.... as Shane (or those who are not big fans of chinese music/thingies) wld say, ching chong fun, lor mai kai.
More details will be up next! Need to go prep for catechism now!

Just one of those days/periods/moments/times again.....
Hormonal imbalances...mood swings... 1 min floating...and the next min...sinking.
I feel.... short... of... intelligence, patience, peace, time.
Spilled tea on myself today. My beautiful white cardi is stained. Hope my maid can get it out when she washes it. Guess at least it's only the cardi...I didn't hafta walk ard smelling of tea. Something's wrong with me this sem... just keep spilling things on myself, falling down and all. Must've got psycho-motor probs.

My drugs and society's lecturer:
"When people use Ketamin for its effects on the brain as a club drug (i.e. one used in clubs) probably, the desired effect is that of a hallucinogen, alright, you know, er..maybe to see things in a different perspective"
hur hur hur? I wonder if she was trying to be sarcastic. Heh, what a way to describe hallucinations. I wonder if we're trying to hallucinate all the time then.
